The AOMV Boys Basketball Teams had a busy week hosting West Monona on Tuesday, December 12th and Woodbury Central on the 14th. The Hawks were able to protect the home court with both the seventh and eighth grade teams winning both contests.

7th Grade

The seventh grade played a fine game against the Spartans and came away with a 44-24 victory. Nine Hawks made it into the scoring column. Tyler O’Connell had an excellent all around game and led the scoring with 15 points. Kyle Uhl scored 7 points, Keenan Nepper 6 points, Andy Seuntjens and Zach Goslar each contributed 4 points for the victors, and rounding out the scoring were Austin Gothier with 3 points, Beau Wolfe and Ted Hanson with 2 points each, and Ryan Trucke with 1 point.

The two wins gave the seventh graders a 5 game winning streak and puts the season record at 6 wins and 2 losses.

8th Grade

The eighth grade used balanced scoring and a stifling defense to upend West Monona by a 41-19 score. Leading scoring for the Hawks was Brady Wright with 12 points. Eric Koithan joined Wright in double figures with 10 points from his point guard spot. Other Hawk scorers were Josh Trucke with 7 points, Ryan Sulsberger with 4 points, and Tanner Seuntjens, Branden Brown, Cody Conover, and Bryce Utterback with 2 points each.
The eighth grade played an excellent game and disposed of Woodbury Central by a 43-28 score. The Hawks led 19-10 at the half and then cruised to the victory in the second half. Brady Wright had a monster game for AOMV with 27 points.
