On this beautiful week my friend, the Codeman, and I, the El Rico, (I changed my name) decided to do some interviews on what people thought their favorite snack was after school.
The first individual we decided to question was Megan Drenkhahn, an all-star basketball player, for the girl’s basketball team. She responded, “Um...popcorn and water.” Megan answered that one like she knew it was coming. We then decided to ask our little, but big-hearted, student, Colby Mauch. Colby (befuddled) said, “Umm...juice or something. I just make cereal or something.” That was it for the 8th graders we interviewed...now on to our 7th graders.
We asked Shelby Christianson what her favorite snack was while she was working on her homework. She looked up and replied, “Mountain Dew® and probably a fruit snack.” We then walked over to Ted Hanson and asked him the same thing. Ted replied with, “Ice cream and Coke®.” Ice cream is also one of my favorites.
Last but not least we decided to ask head secretary, Brenda Wolfe, what her snack was; Brenda paused and responded, “Oh, gosh. I’m always healthy you guys! Um, what do I eat? Umm...I’m a water drinker. For food it’s anything I can find.”
That is all for what people’s favorites snacks were...tune in next week and find out if Mrs. Herbold really wears a wig...haha just kidding.
Hey, there, everyone! This week we have something fun and interesting to share with you! I bet you are wondering where a lot of people like to shop while you are strolling in the mall, or walking downtown of a big city. Well, we chose a couple of our cronies in our school to ask where they like to shop and why? Our participators are: Mrs. Herbold, Jamie Herrick, Kelly Perkins, Karyssa Mullicane, Nolan Kafton, Mrs. Kammerer, and Paisley Conlon. Here are their wonderful answers! These answers may be kind of random!
Where do you like to shop and why? Mrs. Herbold urgently and excitedly responded with, “Barnes & Noble, because I have this feeling like of AHH. I don’t know if it’s the smell of the new books or the brewing lattes. It makes me feel like I’m at home!”
Where do you like to shop and why? Nolan Kafton thought to himself for a while and came up with, “Goodwill, because they’re cheap prices and all of my friends go there, like Tanner Seuntjens!”
Where do you like to shop and why? Kelly Perkins replied with, “My favorite place to shop..umÉ Wal-Mart.. You know? Wally-World, because you can buy everything there. It’s a 1-stop shop!”
Where do you like to shop and why? Paisley Conlon responded, “ Why would you ask me? I don’t know? Hy-Vee, because there is a helpful smile in every aisle!!” JJ
Where do you like to shop and why? Karyssa Mullicane said, “Claire’s, because I looooove jewelry!”
Where do you like to shop and why? Jamie Herrick hesitated and said, “ UmÉ I don’t know. The Mall? I guess I like Claire’s!”
Where do you like to shop and why? Mrs. Kammerer said, “ Kohl’s, because I like the prices and their styles. They also carry petites.”
Okay! Well, that’s all for our news article for this week! Hope you enjoyed it!!
This week my stud pal, the Codeman, and I, the Ricster, decided to ask 8 students and a couple teachers what their favorite meal was at Anthon Oto- Maple Valley Middle School. Our first undergraduate we decided to ask was 8th grader, Brady Wright. He replied, “UmÉprobably pizza or whatever. I like corn for vegetables and I also like Go-Gurt¨. I like white milk.” Well, Brady didn’t have to weird of a lunch considering people eat about 23 pounds of pizza in their life span. We then asked one of our top guns at the school, Brittany McBride, what her favorite meal was. She complimented the lunch ladies and said, “UmÉthose one pepperoni deals. That’s like the only good thing. Um, for desserts I like those one little juicies and for vegetables I like corn.” Brittany also said that she liked white milk.
We then asked one of our goofiest girls, Bailey Petersen, the same question as the other two and she responded, “I don’t know. It’d have to be the pizzatas. I also like the applesauce and I don’t like the vegetables here. Chocolate milk here is pretty good.” We then asked 7th grade all-star, Tyler O’Connell, what his favorite meal was and he smoothly replied, “HmmÉchili and cinnamon rolls. White cauliflower and for dessert, chocolate chip cookies. I like the whole white milkÉchocolate is yuck.” Good choice, Tyler, chili and cinnamon rolls are my favorite, too! Our next loyal 7th grader was Erika Elmquist and she nervously said, “I don’t know...probably chili. Uh, green beans. Umm, Tricks Yogurt¨, and chocolate milk.”
Then we asked one of our huge animal lovers, Paisley Conlon, the same question about the meals. She honestly replied, “UmÉ the little white things. Oh pizzatas! I like peas. I guess and I like pudding, I guess. Then we asked our good old pal, Josh Trucke. He replied like he knew the question was coming. He commented, “Chicken nuggets, corn, pudding, Smuckers¨, and chocolate milk.” Then we asked our home dog, Garrett Burns. He stated, “I don’t know. UmmÉ Pizza, carrots, 1% white milk and I like cookies.”
Then we decided to ask the teachers what was their favorite meal. We decided to ask our stud teacher, Mr. Drees. On the move he replied, “ Oh, I don’t know. I don’t know if there is such a thingÉ uhÉ chicken n’ biscuits. I prefer chocolate milk and I like corn. For desert I like chocolate pudding.” Then we asked one of our stylish teachers, Mrs. Seuntjens, what was her favorite meal. She said, “I like the chili and cinnamon rolls. I prefer chocolate milk, and green beans are my favorite. My favorite dessert is apple crisp.” This wraps up our story on the top ten taste buds.
Niki and I thought of another cool idea to do for a newspaper article. we went around and asked different kids in the school who there idol was and why? Their idol could be a celebrity, an athlete, brother, sister, mom, dad, friend or maybe even an animal. The classy students that we chose were: Katie Burkhart, Kiali Banta, Vika Hesse, Keenan Nepper, Kyle Uhl, Kelsey Baker and Josh Trucke.
Who is your idol and why? Katie quoted back with, “I’m trying to thinkÉAlan IversonÉprobably because he is a stud at basketball.”
Who is your idol and why? Vika urgently quoted back, “ÉI like Orlando Bloom, because he’s cute!”
Who is your idol and why? Keenan said, “Tracy McGrady because he’s a stud basketball player.”
Who is your idol and why? Kiali replied with, “My mom, because she was a great role model.”
Who is your idol and why? Kelsey replied with, “My dad because he’s patient and everything. He never gets mad and he’s good with other people.”
Who is your idol and why? Kyle replied with, “James Stewart, because he’s like... I don’t know! UmmÉ(laughing) He’sÉmy favorite rider and ugh, and he’s like rich. UmmÉ he’s a good role model for riders.”
Who is your idol and why? Josh said, “ Stephan Marberry, because he started when he was poor and worked his way up to professional basketball. His helping his old community, and now has a better life.”
