Steve and Marcia Lynch of Rockwell City, Iowa announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie to Joe Seuntjens, son of Neal and Sharon Seuntjens of Mapleton.
The couple plans an April 21, 2007 wedding in Rockwell City with a reception to follow at the Ida Grove Skate Palace.
Katie graduated from the Rockwell City-Lytton High School and from LaJames Cosmetology School in Cedar Falls. She is employed at the Pure Aveda Salon in Ankeny.
Joe graduated from MVAO High School in 2000 and from the University of Northern Iowa in 2005. He is employed as a staff accountant for Jacobson Company in Des Moines.
St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton, Iowa, was the setting on Saturday, August 12, 2006, for the 2 p.m. wedding of Rebecca Katherine Otto and Nicholas Ryan Engdahl. Rebecca is the daughter of Bob and Linda Otto of Mapleton, Iowa, and Nicholas is the son of Dennis and Deb Engdahl of Aurelia, Iowa. Msgr. Mark Duchaine performed the double ring ceremony. The church was decorated with white and periwinkle blue ribbon and a memorial bouquet of white roses and blue mixed flowers. Two white roses were placed in front of the unity candle.
The organists were Crista Else and Nathan Allen. Vocalist for the service was Sharyl Bruning. Solos included “Love Can Build a Bridge,” “Parent’s Prayer,” and “God, a Women, and a Man”. Musical arrangements of “Cannon in D,” “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desire,” “Here Us Now Our God and Father,” “Ave Maria” and “Trumpet Tune” accompanied the joyous readings and vows of the wedding ceremony.
The bride entered the church with her father. She wore an elegant a-line gown of organza with side draping and chapel train. Scattered beading of crystals accented the bodice and waistline of the gown. A cathedral veil was worn adorned with pearls and crystals. The bride wore her hair styled in soft curls accented with pearls and crystals. She carried a bouquet of silk white roses and blue hydrangeas with white organza ribbon and accented with sprays of crystals.
Melissa Kruse of Ida Grove, Iowa, served as her sister’s matron of honor. Hilary Berning of Madison, Wisconsin and Susan Kolar of Rochester, Minnesota served as bridesmaids. They wore floor length satin a-line gowns of periwinkle blue. Roses accented the waistline and flowed down the backs of the gowns to organza trains. They wore pearls and crystals in their hair and carried bouquets of white silk roses, blue hydrangeas, and blue organza ribbon similar to the bride’s.
Lindsey and Mahala Kruse of Ida Grove, Iowa, served as flower girls. The girls wore white crepe sleeveless dresses with skirts of organza embroidered with silver bows. The waistlines of the girls’ dresses were accented with silver satin bows. Lindsey carried a white satin basket with periwinkle rose petals. Mahala announced the arrival of the bride with a silver heart shaped bell.
The mother of the bride chose a periwinkle tea length dress with silver accessories. The mother of the groom wore a black tea length dress with a jacket of sparkling tan and gold.
The groom wore a black tuxedo and silver vest and tie and gold cufflinks given to him by his bride. His boutonniere consisted of silk baby roses with accent flowers of periwinkle.
The best man was Mike Pierce of Larabee, Iowa. Kyle Engdahl of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Mike Roberts of Mason City, Iowa served as groomsmen. They wore black tuxedos with periwinkle vests and ties. Ushers were Jeff Brandt and Tom Karabatsos, both of Mason City, Iowa.
After the ceremony, the reception was held at the Skate Palace in Ida Grove, Iowa. The palace was festively decorated with white and blue lights, white roses, and blue hydrangeas as the bride and groom were welcome by family and friends. A buffet dinner was catered by Central Catering, and an evening of dancing followed.
The bride is a graduate of Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto High School and Morningside College. She is a registered nurse at the Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
The groom is a graduate of Aurelia High School and Morningside College. He currently is a warranty administrator at McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing in Dodge Center, Minnesota.
The couple is at home in Kasson, Minnesota after a honeymoon in Itasca State Park in northern Minnesota.
