Danbury's 125th anniversary celebration is getting close, and one of the first activities is voting for the queen and princess. Beginning Monday, June 11, anyone having either a Danbury address and/or phone number and are age 18 and older will be able to vote. You will be required to sign the ballot which will be found at either precinct (Colbert's Market or Danbury C-Store). It will also be printed in next week's Review.
To vote, attend either precinct beginning the 11th or call the Review at 893-2001 or email the Review at review@danbury-ia.com to vote absentee. Duplicate voters will cause both ballots to be thrown out as will unsigned ballots or those from minors.
Don't think your ballot matters? Last year the princess got the crown by just one vote. Every vote does count!
To be on the ballot, the candidates need to have a Danbury address and/or phone number by at least one parent, or they can be nominated by anyone with a Danbury address and/or phone number. The ladies on the ballot are as follows: MVAO Senior for the 2007/08 school year Steph Heinse and MVAO Juniors for the 2007/08 school year Megan Daws, Jennifer Friedel, Whitney Honsbruch, Jordan Ingram, Maggie Pithan, Elizabeth Sturgeon, Brittanie Tague, Molly Tullis, Rachel Venteicher, Megan Weber, Jennie Wensel, and Shelby Wessling.
Perhaps you can think of a young lady who is a junior or senior who does a lot for our community but happens to live outside the Danbury address or phone exchange. If you would like to nominate someone who is not listed above, please call The Danbury Review at 893-2001 or email us at review@danbury-ia.com by Friday, June 8. Ballots will be printed and delivered by noon on Monday, June 11th.
The new queen and princess will be announced at the 125th street dance featuring The Rumbles.
