Cinco de Mayo, the Kentucky Derby, and the Friends of the Library monthly bake sale at Cord Memorial Library were all happening events on Saturday, May 5th. In honor of the Kentucky Derby, our friends were served horse-shaped sugar cookies decorated in a rainbow of colors along with their coffee. We had a good turn out of Friends and a good variety of treats for sale on our table with $67.50 as our bake sale total. This month's contributions and donations were received from Helen Pithan (a.k.a. Jan Wolterman), Annetta Bjorholm, Karen Kingsbury, Dean Lansink, Bernice Reimer, Rita Fitzpatrick, Jeannette Tierney, Laura Scott, Pat Barry, Betty Lansink, Kathy Dirksen, and JoLynn Wright. Thank you to everyone for another very successful bake sale.
This month we received book donations from Faye Mohrhauser and Jean Creswell raney for our adult secton and some puzzles and books from Adam Plautz for our children's section. We also received a nearly new set of World Book Encyclopedias from Bill and Sandy Ortner. Thank you all for your support of our library.
A thank you goes out to Laura and Colton Frye for the beautiful bouquet of flowers they made for the library. The wooden red, white and blue roses are truly exquisite. Thank you so much.
I hope to see you at the library.
