The Woodbury County Soil and Water Conservation District wishes to announce that Amy Matney, daughter of Jeanie Theobald of Mapleton, is the first place winner in the 2007 soil and water conservation poster contest for grades 4 through 6 (Division III). Amy's poster best represented the contest theme of "Conservation's Power".
Amy received a first place ribbon and $10.00 cash prize award for her poster. Additionally, her poster will be entered into further competition at a regional level in the poster contest sponsored by the Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company and Conservation Districts of Iowa (CDI). The contest is offered annually by the Woodbury County Soil and Water Conservation District commissioners.
Shayla Brown, daughter of Ben and Stacy Brown of Mapleton, received a Honorable Mention ribbon in Division II (grades 2-3).
