Maple Valley-Anthon Oto and Newell-Fonda met up bright and early on Saturday, June 2nd for the N-F tournament. The Rams trailed 0-5 going into the sixth inning. The offense kicked in to make the game exciting, but their rally couldn’t make up for the deficit from the earlier innings.
Doubles were smacked by Secodn Baseman Brad Petersen, First Baseman Adam Petersen, Third Baseman Justin Yockey, and Centerfielder Derek Dougherty. Left Fielder Shane Erlemeier successfully stole a base for the Rams.
Michael Sexton took pitching duties for the first 5 innings. He struck out 2, walked 6, and allowed 4 hits. Blaine Remmick pitched the final inning. He struck out 1 and denied any walks or hits with the help of his fellow Rams.

MVAO took command of the game and rammed their way to an early end with a 10 run rule win. With the exception of the first inning, the Rams scored at least 2 runs in each inning to seal the win in the NF Tournament.
Wes Burkhart had a great night with 3 doubles and a single. Travis Hazard also had a great batting night with a triple and a double.
Blaine Remmick began the night on the pitcher's mound. He struck out 7 batters, walked 2, and allowed 5 hits. Joey Flanigan finished the final inning which had been begun by Remmick. Flanigan struck out 1 and allowed 1 hit.

Justin Yockey was hot at the pitcher's mound on June 5th. Yockey faced 34 batters of which he struck out 17, walked none, and allowed 9 hits in a 7 inning game.
Yockey was given lots of assistance offensively for the win. Leftfielder Shane Erlemeier hit a triple, Centerfielder Derek Dougherty whacked a double and two singles, and Short stop Blaine Remmick and Pinch Hitter Michael Sexton each added doubles.
The game which was played in Mapleton began with a run crossing the plate for the Trojans in the second inning. The host Rams answered the run with one of their own in the third, and the teams entered the fourth inning tied 1-1. The fourth inning broke open the bats and runners with 3 crossing for OA and 2 for MVAO. Defense held the guests in the fifth inning, and the Rams took advantage of the Trojan defense to earn 4 runs and lead 7-4. The sixth inning proved to be another hitter with 3 runs coming in for Odebolt-Arthur to tie the score. Maple Valley-Anthon Oto answered with two of their own and denied any runs in the final inning to take the win.
