Letter to the Editor

My name is Susan Smith, and my husband Tom and I are missionaries who are helping the HIV/AIDS orphans in Kenya. I was born in Kenya and lived in that country until 2003 when I married a US citizen and moved to Iowa. I have been fighting for women’s rights in Kenya for the last 20 years.
My husband and I formed Smith Outreach Ministry of Kenya in 2003 and we are a non-profit organization registered in the USA and also in Kenya. As you have probably read, many women and children were killed or injured by a Luo tribe when they were hiding in a church building that was burned to the ground.
We are urgently appealing for monetary donations to help us with burials, transportation to the hospital, food, water and to provide a shelter for about 200 women and children. Donations can be mailed to Smith Outreach Ministry of Kenya; 107 King St; Ida Grove, IA 51445 and receipts will be provided upon request. If you have any questions, please contact me at home at 712-364-3315 or at work at 712-364-3311. Please help us to reach out to these needy women and children in Kenya. God Bless You.
Susan Smith
