Willow Dale Wellness Village residents, tenants and staff are pleased to recognize Cindy Albers as February employee of the month.
Cindy Segebart was born at Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee to proud parents Alvin & Darlene Segebart. Her parents were overjoyed at the prospect of finally bringing home a baby girl after four boys.
Cindy started her school years at Battle Creek elementary but moved to Anoka, Minnesota when she was 7. During her 6th grade year her parents made the decision to return to the Battle Creek area. She graduated from BC High in 1973.
In May of 1975 Cindy married her sweetheart, Marc Albers. They are the proud parents of daughters Steph, Tracy and Raelyn and sons, Ryan and Josh. Both Marc & Cindy are completely smitten with their eight grandchildren.
Although Cindy thoroughly enjoyed being a “stay-at-home” mom she decided to re-enter the workforce in 1991. Having worked at Willow Dale Care Center as a CNA while in high school & following graduation, Cindy felt it was only natural she return to the place she had such fond memories of. Cindy was hired as the activity coordinator and has since added to her responsibilities. Presently Cindy is the social services designee, transportation (bus) driver, community liaison and official cheesecake maker. On many special occasions’ residents, tenants, staff and guests have been treated to one of her specialties.
In her spare time Cindy enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also loves to bake, watch HGTV, read and listen to Christian music. Her favorite times are when her children and grandchildren are gathered around the dining room table to enjoy a great meal.
Of working at Willow Dale Cindy considers herself “blessed” to have a job where she has the opportunity to build relationships with some wonderful people including, residents, tenants, families, staff and community members. Cindy believes that true happiness in this life is derived “from taking our eyes off of ourselves and focusing on the needs of others”. And in this job she has the opportunity to do just that.
