Tales From The Library

The month of July has been an incredibly busy month at the library. Our Friends of the Library Bake Sale on July 5th opened the month's activities. Being a holiday weekend, our bake sale started slowly with 10:00 arriving and not a Friend in sight. But we soon had a room full of Friends, and with swift transfer of money and baked goods, $103 was soon netted as our bake sale total. This month's contributions and donations were received from Shirley Wright, Jan Wolterman, Pat Barry, Annetta Bjorholm, Laura Scott, Jean Raney, Kathy Dirksen, JoLynn Wright, and Sam Schrank. Thank you to all the library Friends for your ongoing support of our library.
On July 8th the Woodbury County Sheriff's Department hosted a bicycle safety program at the library. All area youngsters were invited to attend the program and get registered for a free bicycle given away at the Woodbury County Fair.
Story Hour also began on July 8th after the bicycle safety program. Catch the Reading Bug has been this year's theme. We read about caterpillars and polliwogs, click beetles, crickets, ants, and ladybugs. The library has a display of the crafts created with each session and bugs colored by each child who has attended the program.
