Museum of Religious Arts at Moorhead Cultural Center

The Moorhead Cultural Center (MCC) is hosting a Museum of Religious Arts exhibit now through August 24th. Museum Director Rhonda McCue and Curator Chris Haase have assembled for our viewing, a sample of unique religious items from their extensive collection of paintings, statuary, antique vestements, bibles and woodcarvings.
Rhonda stated, “Visitors from near and far tell us that our permanent holdings at the Museum, such as the 100 year old Italian stained glass windows and the Mission Chapel have made a great impact.”
Both Rhonda and Chris are happy about the opportunity to exhibit in Monona County. The Museum of Religious Arts, located on Route 30 between Missouri Valley and Logan, is recognized as a jewel of Harrison County must-see sites since 1995 when Paul and Helen Lovell, of Logan, Iowa, began working towards developing a museum to preserve and exhibit religious arts, tradition and culture.
For an extra bit of fun for visitors to the Moorhead exhibit, there is a contest to guess the identity of an antique religious artifact. The winner will be chosen at the end of the exhibit and will receive a prize from the Museum of Religious Arts gift shop.
The Hoffman Agency of Mapleton is the generous sponsor of this exhibit.
The Moorhead Cultural Center offers a free local quality cultural event for your Friday, Saturday or Sunday entertainment! The MCC is open each Friday, Sat and Sunday afternoon from 1:00-4:00 pm or by appointment by calling 712-884-2631. The facility is handicapped accessible, air conditioned and admission is free!
