Cord Memorial Library's October bake sale was hosted on October 4th with a good crowd of Friends enjoying the coffee, cookies, and each other's company. Our table filled with rolls, bars, sweet bread, cookies, and cake, with everything selling quickly. Annetta Bjorholm stepped in willingly as cashier, and, at the end of the day, $71.00 was the bake sale total. This month's contributions and donations were received from Annetta Bjorholm, Jan Wolterman, Laura Fitzpatrick, Pat Barry, Traci Wright, Betty Lansink, Kathy Dirksen, JoLynn Wright, and Mary Ortner. Thank you to all Library Friends for your dedication and support of our library.
Two generous book donations were received this month. Donating books were Pauline Meier and Twila Adkins. Ladies, thank you for your gifts to our library.
On behalf of Cord Memorial Library and all the Friends of the Library, I would like to extend sympathy to both the Cord family and the Dirksen family on the loss of their loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow.
On Wednesday, October 29th, Jake Bossman, a representative for Senator Chuck Grassley, will be setting up a temporary office at Cord Memorial Library. Mr. Bossman will be holding an open meeting for all interested individuals. If you have questions or concerns you want to voice, please come in and visit with Mr. Bossman.
The next library bake sale will be hosted on November 1st from 10:00 until all items sell. With the holidays just around the corner, this is a good opportunity to begin stocking up on holiday treats. I hope to see you there.
