A Review of MVAOCOU High School Boys Wrestling

How did Wyatt Hieber do at State Wrestling?

Well, his first round ended in the first period when he pinned Aaron Domeyer of Beckman Catholic. His next match, this time against Justin Knipfer of Columbus was going well with Wyatt winning into the second period. However, as can happen, Knipfer pulled a reversal and got a pin on Wyatt, sending him to the backside of the tournament and a chance to still place.
Friday morning started with Hieber totally dominating Rylan Hoksbergen of Boyden Hull Rock Valley, winning 17-2 in a technical fall.. Things were looking up. Sort of. His next compeitor, Jakob Lawson from Pocahontas Area, thrust the grapplers into a rematch of the championship round at the district meet on Valentine's Day. That one ended with Wyatt getting the 11-10 win and the top spot on the podium. However, this one didn't go as well and Jakob ended Wyatt's journey with a 12-6 win over the Ram.
Wyatt is the son of Drew and Heather Hieber of Mapleton and Ashley and Brandon Pollema of Le Mars.
Congratulations, on your tough fight at State, Wyatt!
