Korleen Wanita Hall, the daughter of George E. and Luella H. (Hollister) Dean, was born on May 2, 1940, on the family farm near Mapleton. She received her education from Maple Valley High School, graduating with the class of 1958.
In the spring of 1958, Korleen married Forest L. Flannery, and together they welcomed four children: Dean, Diane, Denis, and Deneen. The family settled in Indiana where Korleen spent much of her life working as a bookkeeper for various businesses. Following Forest's passing in 1973, Korleen married Farris Hall on November 23 of that same year. They later returned to Iowa where they established their home in the Ticonic area to pursue new job opportunities and be nearer to family.
When her daughters were young, Korleen served as a Girl Scout leader and stayed busy taking her children to their many activities. After returning to Iowa, she became a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Mapleton. Korleen enjoyed crocheting, baking, and gardening, and she had a spirited personality, never hesitating to speak her mind.
For the past year and a half, Korleen made her home at Maple Heights due to declining health. She appreciated her time there, and her family is grateful for the compassionate care provided by the staff.
Left to cherish her memory include her children Diane Flannery of Sloan, Denis Flannery of Danbury, and Deneen (Joe) Schrank of Danbury; grandchildren Brad, Brandie, Katie (Jeremy), Michael, Christopher (Frankie), Jason, and Donn; great-grandchildren Ethan, Kassadi, Kolten, Dalton, Lilly, Keely, Dale, Ruth, and Grady; sister Georgia Scheer of Mapleton; and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Luella Dean; husbands Forest L. Flannery and Farris Hall; son Dean (Deb) Flannery; and half-sister Evonne Blakely.
Katherine H. Moser, age 97, of Danbury passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek.
