MVAO Elementary - Mapleton Center - Held Final Reading Celebration

The Mapleton elementary students attended the final reading celebration of the school year shortly before school dismissed for the summer. The kindergarten classes kicked off the assembly with readings that they shared with the student body. Ms. Porter's class shared a reading titled "Summertime" and Miss Smith's students read a poem called, "Here I come!"
After the student presentations, Mrs. Oberreuter announced the classroom reading awards and handed out the certificates. Following the classroom awards, Gold Medal Reader Certificates were handed out to all students who read over 100,000 words, as tallied through the AR system this year. The final awards handed out were for the students who reached designated point levels this quarter and earned books.
To finish out the assembly, the teachers read a poem called, "I'm glad I was your teacher" and then students shared summer reading recommendations out to their friends.

MVAO Elementary - Anthon Center - Held Final Reading Celebration

The Anthon elementary students attended the final reading celebration of the year shortly before school dismissed for the summer. Mrs. Admire's first grade class started off the assembly with a choral reading of "Summer is Coming." Next, Mrs. Baldwin shared with the students how her kindergarten class created their very own book, titled "The Greatest Summer." They then read their book to the group and presented the library with a copy.
After the student presentations, Mrs. Oberreuter shared library and classroom reading awards. Students who received their birthday books during the fourth quarter were also acknowledged.
The final presentation was a short poem called "We're Glad We Were Your Teachers," read by the elementary teachers. To finish out the gathering, students shared book recommendations to their friends for summer reading.
